Theatre, cinema, advertising and events are the sectors in which Guido Calamosca works.

He was born in Senigallia in 1981, a city with a strong photographic tradition. He met the world of theatre in 1998 and was struck by it. His curiosity about that environment led him to take an old reflex camera and capture everything that happens in front of and behind the stage.

In those years, he started working in a studio where he learned the secrets of the profession. He then attended a photography course at the Altieri Academy of Fashion and Entertainment in Rome and began working as director of photography for a number of short films and with the International Inteatro Festival in Polverigi.

He has been following the Summer Jamboree since 2007 and in 2013 he began an official collaboration on the Festival’s photographic project.

In 2017, he was a finalist for the Pesaresi Prize, which was awarded at SiFest, with the Fotoricordo project. Since 2018 he has been part of the Elenfant Film Distribution group in Bologna. In these twenty years, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in various cities in Italy.

There are many personal projects in the process of being worked on and published, including some reportages made with journalist Giorgia Olivieri that have also become small limited edition self-productions.

Photography for him is a living substance, as is what he portrays. This is why Guido Calamosca will never consider his research path to be finished, but aimed instead at building a style and a well-defined personal point of view.
