Luca Locatelli è un fotografo e visual storyteller.
La sua ricerca si concentra sulle interazioni tra cultura, scienza e ambiente e in particolare modo sui processi tecnologici e industriali promettenti e sostenibili per il pianeta.
Luca lavora a stretto contatto con scienziati, giornalisti, ricercatori e specialisti internazionali in modo tale da contestualizzare e arricchire la sua ricerca visiva. Luca è un fotografo National Geographic Magazine e collabora spesso con testate internazionali quali New York Times Magazine, Time, The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek, Wired, Smithsonian, Stern, Geo France, Geo Germany, Sunday Times Magazine, D di Repubblica e molte altre.
Negli anni i suoi lavori sono stati esposti in tutto il mondo e riconosciuti da premi internazionali quali Aftermath Grant nel 2014, Nannen Prize 2017, World Press Photo Award 2018 – categoria Ambiente e World Photography Organization 2018 – categoria Landscape.

Luca Locatelli is an Italian artist that combines fine art photography with photojournalism.
As part of his work, Luca produces narratives in collaboration with journalists, environmentalists, and scientists in order to further contextualise his research.
Deeply rooted in documentary and journalistic production, his work revolves around the interaction between people, technology, and the environment, and addresses the “making” of the future.
Luca is an official photographer for National Geographic Magazine and contributes regularly to The New York Times Magazine. His work can also often be seen in other major publications such as Time, The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek, Wired, Smithsonian, Stern, Geo France, Geo Germany, and Sunday Times Magazine to name but a few.
His works have been exhibited and screened extensively around the world in venues such as Somerset House in London, Le Rencontres D’Arles, Visa Pour l’Image in Perpignan, Noorderlicht International Photofestival, Getxophoto, and Cortona on the Move amongst others.
Furthermore, Luca’s stories have inspired TV productions and Hollywood movie scripts.
